We have lost a few members of the family over the years but those of us left live either in Jacksonville or within a 100 mile radius. We get together often for holidays and family events- there are around 50 of us and we always have such a great time. I feel blessed to have such a large fun family!
What past jobs have you had and which ones have you enjoyed the most?
I've had several jobs since High school and enjoyed most of them. I worked for 22 years in Jacksonville at a company that changed names several times CSX Technologies/Barnett Bank Technologies/Intuition/Nelnet. I was the Facilities Manager for Jax/DC/Virginia. Was laid off in 10/2007. Thoroughly enjoyed my year off. Then back to work at MDI Holdings, Inc. In Nocatee. In 2013 I went to work for EverBank and was there for 13 years!
What are your favorite memories of Forrest High School?
As far as classroom's are concerned - I had Miss Hunter for humanities.....she was a great teacher but delighted in torturing us during test. She would stand in the back of the class and hum the "dum...dum du dum..." dirge.....and laugh.
Outside of the classroom - Young Life....riding in Debbie (Thompson's) white T-Bird!! Access 5 - dances @ Riverside Woman's club....Southside Woman's club and the Beaches Pavillion...eating at the Thompson House or Mr D's with Debbie and Joanna when we had no money!! Birthday sleep over's at Debbie's aunt's at the beach....football games.....it was just fun!
Favorite music? What is the last CD or download you purchased?
I still love the "old stuff"! I just got an IPhone and the first song I purchased was "Landslide" by Fleetwood ..... I LOVE the Eagles, Little River Band, Journey, Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffet....anything Motown.....the list is endless!
When I look back over the years, it's hard to remember all the things that I thought were really cool at the time.
Hitting a golf ball off a mountain over a waterfall.....being on the rim of the Grand Canyon at sunset.....riding on a camel in Africa (with Juanita!).....standing in the Coliseum in Rome.... and countless others.
