Vickie Draffin (Lavender) passed away July 11, 2010, after a lengthy battle with a rare form of blood cancer. She is survived by her husband, mother and brother.  I had known her for all of my life, both in school (Bayview Elem., Lake Shore Jr. High, and Forrest) and at the church I attended in my youth. I had not spoken to her for a number of years, but her mother and mine remain close friends. I will always remember her and her entire family as kind, mild-mannered people, who would do anything for the people around them. Vickie lived her faith daily, and will be missed by all who knew her.
