Nancy Stevens Vilardo passed away on May 18th, 2014.
We became neighbors at the age of eight years old and immediately became friends. I have so many fond memories of playing together as we grew up; listening to Beatles music together during the summer break; and having our first dates together - a double-date held in her family room (listening to records, of course!).
Nancy and I had reconnected twice as adults...and we most recently reconnected in October 2013. We were making plans to attend our 45th Reunion together when she was diagnosed with brain tumors - Stage Four.
Nancy was a great friend to me, and I am so sad to hear of her passing.
Like Karen's experience, Nancy quickly reached out to me when my family and I moved in. She helped the new kid in the neighborhood be welcomed and included.
My sense is that she was a superior nurse, competent and caring. Our world lost a really fine person, but was made much brighter by her time here.
