My sister is still in FL, but has moved to Mount Dora, FL. My parents and in-laws are all buried in Jacksonville.

Go to Florida State University and double major in mathematics and physics, graduated in 1973. Went to the State University of New York in Stony Brook and studied Quantum Gravity, but only got a Masters degree as the subject matter was then to difficult for me. I then went to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and got my Ph.D. In astrophysics with a dissertation on “Three Dimensional Eulerian Hydrodynamics of Star Forming regions. I then went to the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism of the Carniegie Institution of Washington for two years as a NASA post-doc and worked with Dr. Alan Boss and made his 3D hydrodynamic Star formation code second order in space and time. I then got a job I at Montgomery College, Maryland as an adjunct professor of astronomy, mathematics, and physics. After a few months I was additional made planetarium director and physical science laboratory coordinator a full time staff job. I am still doing both jobs for Montgomery College and helped form two labor unions AFSCME local 2380, that represents full time college staff and SEIU local 500 that represents adjunct contingent faculty members. I have been an officer in AFSCME and am still active in both unions. I get paid to have fun with college students and as long as I am healthy, I do not plan to retire. The college is currently building a new science and mathematics building which will have a larger more capable Universarium/Planetarium. Because of construction the planetarium is closed, but is scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2022 when I will be 73 years old.

Billy Russell lives in Montgomery county and I wish I hung out with him more as he was my best friend in high school at Forrest.

I enjoy my current job the most, the only thing I do not enjoy is grading by reading essay questions in ASTR101. I am soon teaching ASTR101 online again using Blackboard and Zoom. I also make instructional videos which are on YouTube working with others. I will soon be making flat planetarium video in my basement using Spitz planetarium Preview Suite software and posting them on YouTube.

I am also a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Silver Spring.

Physics and Mathematics classes and going to Joe Berg seminars with William (Billy) Russell who was the valedictorian of our class.
